The End of the War
People had grown used to living with a major war that it came as a shock to many when the war ended. People were elated that the war that had been such a part of their lives was finally over. The atmosphere of the country changed as the world shifted to peace. The war had been so huge, it had appeared that the war would never end, but when it did people were relieved. Although the war was a major part of people's lives some things did not really change. There was a degree of removal from the war for the teenagers of the time. As omnipresent as the war was, it could not touch everyone in a way that they noticed once the war had ended. Listen below to hear more.
